Urbanites in London no longer will have to pull out their smart phones to check the performance of stock markets, nor will they have to look to their phones for the status of London’s Underground trains. The Renew bins report on finances, potential terrorist activity, and are bomb-resistant. Costing nearly $800,000 over their 21-year contracts, the Renew bins are also designed to help encourage workers within the Square Mile to recycle more.

Researchers create cheap solar paint

Researchers from the University of Notre Dame have announced their creation of electricity-producing paint. While the conversion ratio is low, the paint is cheap to make and very easy to produce in large quantities. We’ll soon have solar powered everything.
The paint is created from titanium dioxide and a mixture of either cadmium sulfide or cadmium selenide. The two pastes are yellow and brown, respectively, combining into a light brown paste for the most optimum results in conversion.
